About Michigan ASCD

Michigan ASCD is the state affiliate of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), an international organization of diverse educators committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Located in Lansing, Michigan ASCD is a strong resource and advocate for quality teaching and learning in our state. The organization collaborates with the State Department of Education, the State Board of Education, the Legislature and other educational organizations to advocate for and influence the educational policy and practices that are of interest to our membership.

While we work closely with ASCD on many issues of common interest, Michigan ASCD is the local connection to Michigan education.

Michigan ASCD Goals

Michigan ASCD will improve learning and teaching for Michigan educators within the Whole Child Framework by:

  1. Advocating for policies and practices that support the Whole Child.
  2. Distributing and modeling effective and evidence based programs, products and services that will inform and support instructional leaders.
  3. Fostering an engaged collaborative community in order to become more efficient and intentional.
