Michigan ASCD is the state affiliate of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), an international organization of diverse educators committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Located in Lansing, Michigan ASCD is a strong resource and advocate for quality teaching and learning in our state. The organization collaborates with the State Department of Education, the State Board of Education, the Legislature and other educational organizations to advocate for and influence the educational policy and practices that are of interest to our membership.

While we work closely with ASCD on many issues of common interest, Michigan ASCD is the local connection to Michigan education.

Michigan ASCD Goals

  • Build a more engaged and diverse community to improve learning and teaching for each student.
  • Advocate policies and practices that positively influence learning, teaching and leadership in education.
  • To distribute research-based programs, products, and services that will lead educators to use best practices in learning, teaching, and leadership.
  • To continuously improve operational and fiduciary effectiveness to deliver value to all Michigan ASCD members.
